Focus onA Wood in the Fair, open to everyone
A real wood, with fields, trees and cottages to welcome lovers of nature, inside the Fiera exhibition centre as part of
Xylexpo
, the international biennial fair for wood technologies and supplies to the furniture industry scheduled from 4 to 8 May 2010 to concide with the Technology Exhibition Week.3,200 mē (inside Pavilion 14) will be home to a wood of over 500 trees (some of them very large) that will be open free of charge to the public on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May. This will be a chance to see Fiera Milano in an unusual light, a pleasant opportunity to rediscover secrets and crafts linked to wood-working, told by carpenters and lumberjacks. Bosco in Fiera will also play host to the Lumberjack Biathlon, organised by the Valtellina Associazione Amici Boscaioli (the Lumberjack Friends’ Association), with demonstrations of very fast branch lopping using axes and sculptures made with chainsaws. Going beyond the event itself however, visitors will be left with a message of attention to our woods, a mine of opportunities for building while respecting the environment.
