November and december results

Creativity, technology and passion to revive the visual communication market: this is Viscom Italia 2011 winning formula. 18,700 visitors, both professionals and qualified trade operators; more than 400 suppliers showcased their new products, solution and technologies with a particular focus on environmental sustainability. Great success was achieved by ViscomLabs, the “live” demonstration areas featuring industry professionals. The winners of the two Viscom Awards were finally announced: DIVA – Display Italia Viscom Award, POP Producers’ creativity competition, and “Il Telaio d’Argento”, the biennial award devoted to the Italian serigraphy industry.

Creativity was on display even during the all-female weekend devoted to Italia Crea; the fall events, Hobby Show and Weekend Donna, registered record-breaking figures in fieramilanocity: about 18,000 visitors, 5% increase compared to 2012. Among the many Hobby Show proposals, the cake-design courses, the patchwork exhibition, Ricicl…ando labs, body painting demonstrations, and origami workshops were much appreciated. Participations boomed for the hundred of courses, labs, demonstrations and workshops organized by art schools, associations and exhibitors. The third Weekend Donna proved to be a totally autonomous event, capable of offering a great variety of purchase hints and fun occasions. Astonishing success was achieved by Scuola di Cucina Congusto cooking show, i.e. the casting set for the new program Cambio Cuoco (an absolute première), Weekend Donna Live Show with dances, fashion shows and the Weekend Donna comanda colore prize game.

Salone Franchising Milano recorded 13,000 attendees, in line with 2010 event. It was considered very interesting by the international buyers (coming from nine countries) who joined the Italian networks to widen their foreign experience. In order to strengthen the business relations created during the event, “Find franchising” is available: a search engine available at www.salonefranchisingmilano.com, which allows searching partners according to commodity sector, location and investment range.


The 69th EICMA (International Motorcycle Exhibition) proved to be a truly international event: it recorded over 500,000 visitors and a significant increase in the number of foreign operators coming from the five continents.
Remarkable figures characterized this extraordinary event: over 58,000 square meters net exhibition surface; 1,462 exhibited brands representing 43 foreign countries, and 7 pavilions where many new products and foretastes were on display. Both media and general public showed, as usual, great interest for “Motolive”, the 80,000 square meters outdoor area devoted to competitions, as well as for “The Green Planet”, dedicated to sustainable mobility and “EICMA Custom” for custom lovers.


Enthusiastic visitors attended the third Robotica 2011, the only Italian event dedicated to humanoids and service robots which closed on November 19th in Fiera Milano. It took place as a part of events devoted to sustainable energy - Greenenergy Expo and EnerSolar+ - and to technology - HTE e HI.TECH.EXPO -  attended by 31,400 operators coming from 75 countries (7% increase if compared to 2010). The first E.Tech Experience, the biennial event by Fiera Milano devoted to energy, electrical systems and lighting engineering, recorded 9,100 visitors, 10% of them coming from abroad and in particular from 60 countries. The 4-day event completed its exhibition offer through a great number of refresher courses and professional training activities addressed to electricity trade operators as well as big private users, building companies and public officials. The opening conference “Scrapping Electricity Systems: a proposal to Government” aroused great interest, as well.


5 thousand visitors attended the third Bimec, the biennial exhibition for mechanics and automation, hosted for the first time in Fiera Milano (Rho). Devoted to assemblage, handling, movement, robotics and industrial vision, Bimec was organized on a 5,000 square meters area and exhibited the products of 140 companies. The next 2013 event will propose a new formula and have a new name: Mecha-Tronika.

Over 57,000 visitors (+12% if compared to 2012) crowded Pavilion 3 at fieramilanocity, on the occasion of the 4th G! come giocare, the most important Italian event devoted to toys. Three days of wild games, tournaments, demonstrations, road safety courses, cooking classes, music, shows, books, videogames, new products and ideas for Christmas. First and foremost, many games to be played and tried.  New big initiative this year was the movie review: a whole day of projections devoted to today’s cult series. The project Generazione Expo e nuovi linguaggi. Il futuro del giocattolo "made and thought in Italy", conceived in cooperation with Poli Design, achieved an astonishing success: it presented the projects developed by the students of Politecnico focusing on the toys of the future.


The end of November was characterized by the 24th Simei – the international Exhibition devoted to Oenological and Bottling Machineries – and by the 8th - International Vine and Olive Growing Techniques Exhibition – organized by Unione Italiana Vini. 716 exhibiting companies (from 25 countries) and an 80,000 square meters surface. Over 48,000 visitors attended the exhibitions, 9,400 of whom came from abroad. The events proved to be a world’s preview for the wine sector. The “Premio all’Innovazione tecnologica” award also made its début: it was conceived by Unione Italiana Vini in order to award excellences through machines, equipment, products and services addressed to wine companies, beverage, the food supply chain and consumers. More than 30 companies from all over the world took part at the initiative presenting 36 projects.


December was opened by the first event Expotraining in fieramilanocity, entirely devoted to professional training. The event was followed by the 16th AF – L’Artigiano in Fiera, which recorded over 3 million visitors in 9 days and a “technological sequel”: over 7,500 downloads of iAF, the app for iPhone, iPad and iPod (+11% if compared to last year), 254,375 unique users connected in December at the www.artigianoinfiera.it Website (+30% if compared to the 2010 event), Facebook friends doubled.

Finally, Il Salone del Libro Usato – Bancarelle in Fiera widened its exhibiting surface and strengthened its presence as an unmissable event devoted to out-of-print books. The 4-day event proved to be a true meeting point for booklovers from all over Europe. 550 bookstalls presented the rarest editorial titles as well as collectible treasures and paperbacks.
