Aspiring chocolate winners at A.B. TECH

Chocolate makers and confectioners with wonderful ideas on chocolate and interested in showing off their ability to work “the food of gods” and its creative use will meet up at A.B. Tech Expo , the international trade fair dedicated to both the products and technologies of confectionary and sweet pastry production is at Fiera Milano from 23rd – 27th of next October.


Thanks to an agreement signed by the organisers of the exhibition and Barry Callebaut, the event promoter, during the A.B, Tech Expo will be the Milanese stop over of the national selections for the Italian Chocolate-Makers Championship. The national selections, introduced for the first time this year to guarantee a high level of skill of the competitors which will take part in the Italian Championship, are aimed at identifying the finalists who will fight it out for the national title.


On Tuesday 26th October
, at the Laboratorio Centrale di Pasticceria at the trade fair, the competitors, maximum 8 people, will compete in the making of: - a small creative piece, inspired by the same theme as the national and world finals, and entirely created before the public and jury - a praline-by-immersion, produced with handmade chocolate - A cake made with unknown ingredients held in the Mystery Box .


The winner of the Milanese competition, who will gain a place in the Italian Chocolate-Makers Championship – the only competition recognised for qualification to the World Chocolate Masters of Paris – will be chosen by a jury of experts, presided over the Chocolate Master Gianfranco Rosso.
