April results

Even more exhibitors for the fifth Made in Steel, the conference and exhibition of the Italian steel industry, which was held from April 3rd  to 5th for the first time at fieramilanocity. Visitors amounted to 10,900; foreign visitors have registered an increase by +20% (EU 66%, European non-EU 22%, Asian 8% and African 2%) while Italian visitors have decreased, greatly suffering from the crisis. Much appreciation for the 24 conferences which led to an intense exchange of views, experiences and ideas, a key element in shaping the future of such a strategic sector as steel.

Always at fieramilanocity, the eighteenth Miart closed on April 8th, the international fair of modern and contemporary art, directed by Vincenzo de Bellis and organized by Fiera Milano. The event recorded 36,736 visitors during the three days in which it was open to the public (12% more than last year). Located in Pavilion 3 at fieramilanocity, Miart presented 140 galleries, 55 of which from 15 foreign countries, divided into 4 sections - Established, Emergent, THENnow, Object - with 700 international artists and 3,000 works on display. The event awarded the “Rotary Club Milano Brera per l’arte contemporanea e i giovani artisti” prize and the Emergent prize. Fondazione Fiera Milano also created the new acquisition fund for art works - Fondo Giampiero Cantoni.

Simultaneously with Miart, the 26th Milanofil International Stamp Exhibition 2013 was held at MiCo-Milano Congressi. The event brought together about 10 thousand visitors and 70 trade exhibitors. These include five foreign postal administrations (including San Marino, Swiss Post, Poste Magistrali of the Order of Malta and Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Vatican City), 12 philatelic associations and a space dedicated to Istituto Poligrafico and Zecca dello Stato.

April ended with the success of the 52nd Saloni, which from April 9th through 14th placed at the center of world’s attention more than 2,500 Italian and foreign exhibitors, divided among Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Salone Internazionale del Complemento d’Arredo, Salone Satellite and the biennial Euroluce and Salone Ufficio. Overall visitors amounted to 324,093, 285,698 of whom were operators working in the sector, with investments from 160 countries. Foreign presence accounted for 68% total, with a significant increase compared to 63% of the 2011 event (in which biennial Euroluce and Salone Ufficio were held). Important figures for the visitors from outside Europe, from the Asia basin, the United States, South America and Africa. Great interest by the countries of the Russian area and by important delegations of Chinese manufacturers and American architects.
